On Fragrance
What defines a Wilkin & May fragrance?
Restraint.
Our compositions are designed to sit close to the body and remain soft in the air. We favor balance over projection, subtlety over saturation. Each fragrance is shaped to coexist — with skin, with space, with others.
Are your fragrances non-toxic?
Yes.
All Wilkin & May formulas are developed in accordance with California Prop 65 and European regulations for restricted ingredients. We formulate within some of the most rigorous global safety standards.
Our fragrances are paraben-free, phthalate-free, non-GMO, and non-toxic.
Cleanliness is our baseline, not our headline.
Do you use natural or synthetic materials?
We use both — intentionally.
Nature is powerful, but not always gentle. Certain natural materials can be highly sensitizing, while carefully refined synthetic ingredients are often safer and more stable.
We select materials based on safety, performance, and how they behave over time — not ideology.
What does “no harsh aromatics” mean?
It means we avoid aggressive fragrance compounds and excessive projection. Our fragrances are composed to remain balanced, refined, and comfortable in shared environments.
Are your fragrances suitable for sensitive individuals?
Many of our clients who are typically fragrance-averse find our compositions as an easy to wear alternative due to their restrained structure.
However, sensitivity varies. We always recommend patch testing if you are highly reactive.
On Candles & Home Fragrance
Do your candles burn cleanly?
Yes.
Our candles are formulated to produce a steady, even burn with minimal soot when used properly. We prioritize air quality and material integrity alongside scent.
How should I care for my candle?
Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each burn.
Allow the melt pool to reach the edges on first use.
Avoid burning longer than four hours at a time.
Care ensures clarity.
On Standards & Sourcing
Are you cruelty-free?
Always. Cruelty-free and suitable for vegans.
Are your products paraben- and phthalate-free?
Yes. Our formulas are developed without parabens, phthalates, or GMOs, and are held to strict international safety benchmarks.
How do you define “clean”?
Clean, to us, means thoughtfully regulated, responsibly composed, and transparently formulated.
It is less about trend language, and more about disciplined standards.
On Orders
When will my order ship?
Orders are typically processed within 1–3 business days. Shipping timelines vary by destination.
Do you accept returns?
If your purchase is not right for you, please contact us within 14 days of delivery. We will respond thoughtfully and work toward resolution.
